So, on with the question: Why is it illegal to have sex outdoors? Having sex outdoors is pretty popular & even people who haven’t tried it often list it as a fantasy, maybe due to the sense of freedom that being naked outdoors can bring or the thrill of knowing you might be discovered. Many young people also end up having sex outside because it’s the only place they can get any privacy, especially if their parents are unaware or unhappy with the fact that they are sexually active. However, before you head off to your local park, it’s important to know where you stand with regards to the law. Having sex outdoors is not actually illegal in the UK. However, the Sexual Offences Act of 2003 does outlaw public indecency, which means that you could be arrested & prosecuted if you were seen whilst having sex or even if you were just naked in a public place. Obviously, the way to solve this is to go somewhere super secluded, like a remote beach or a deserted piece of grassland, where you definitely won’t be spotted. As for the reason why having sex in a public place is illegal, it’s all to do with public decency. Not everyone would be happy to accidentally wander across you & your lover, & it’s not really fair to spring that on someone. So remember, if you want to take part in any sexual activity outdoors, then make sure you’re prepared: Bring protection! It’s probably best to bring a couple of spares, just incase something breaks or you want to go a couple of rounds. Think about any extras you want to bring! There are a couple of things that you might take for granted when you’re at home, but which you’ll need to remember to bring if you’re heading outdoors, for example lube & baby wipes to clean up afterwards. You might also want to consider bringing a tent (especially if you can’t guarantee no-one’s going to come across you) & a blanket to soften the ground & stop you from getting sand or grass in all the wrong places. Double check you’re going to be alone! It’s pretty difficult to be 100% certain no-one’s going to come across you but double checking there’s no public footpath or remote farmhouse overlooking your chosen spot can reduce your chances of being interrupted. Keep your clothes near by! If you are discovered it’s best to make sure you know where all your belongings are so you can make a quick get away. Have fun, & stay safe!
