astroquizzical asked: Hey, I saw your question about the moving star that disappeared after a couple seconds. It sounds like what you're seeing is called an Iridium flare - it's a satellite in orbit that catches the sunlight and reflects it down to earth. It brightens and dims quickly because it only shines the light in your direction for a short period of time. Hope that helps! If you search wikipedia for 'iridium flare' it'll take you to a page with a gif of what it should look like, if you're interested.
